Grants that Make a Difference:
The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation in Flint, Michigan, has announced a $1.8 million grant to the Atlanta-based Southern Education Foundation to help endow the Center to Serve Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Grantmakers in the News
Ten Atlanta-area teens will get to participate in an eight-day, all-expenses paid, Amazon exploration this summer for writing and presenting winning essays as part of the Frank Ski Kids Foundation's annual Planet Green program.

    According to the Foundation Center’s new report, Key Facts on Georgia Foundations, giving by Georgia foundations rose to $718 million in 2005, a 15 percent increase over 2000 despite a slight decrease in assets during the same period.
