This web site provides background on the Valentine Perry Snyder Fund. In her will, Mrs. Sheba Torbert Snyder made provisions to establish the Valentine Perry Snyder Fund in honor of her late husband. Upon Mrs. Snyder's death in 1942, the Fund was established.

Restrictions:
No grants are made to individuals or for research, scholarships or fellowships, matching gifts or loans.
Eligibility:
Organizations must be classified by the Internal Revenue Service as public charities and tax-exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. A minimum of three years must elapse between successful grant applications.
Grant Information:
Most grants are between $20,000 and $30,000; approximately 20 grants are made annually. 2007 payout was $485,000.
Grant Cycle:
The Valentine Perry Snyder Fund operates on an annual cycle. The deadline for receiving proposals is September 1st. Proposals are reviewed during the fall with grant decisions made in December.

Mostly project support; occasional general support or capital grants.
