With the announcement of new rules for public availability of private foundations’ information reports to the IRS (the 990-PF), many foundations have expressed interest in placing their 990-PF on the Web. In March 2000, the Center began offering to post foundation 990-PFs in PDF format as part of the Foundation Folders initiative. In this format, the 990-PF has the appearance of the annual information form (or return) filed with the IRS and thus meets the IRS regulations for making this document widely available to the public.

Foundations that already have a Web site may also take advantage of this service. Alternatively, the Center will create the PDF file for foundations that wish post their 990-PF at their own Web site. For grantmakers not participating in our Folders program, there is a charge for creating the PDF files.
