When should I use the Grantmaker Services Hotline?

As a grantmaker you can secure special services that are tailored to your needs. Through the Hotline, (212) 807-2446, you have access to IRS 990-PFs, foundation annual reports and other publications, and our books and periodicals pertaining to philanthropy, or we can lookup information in the Center's grantmaker and grants database.

For instance, if you need the current phone number for a particular foundation, we can check for the most recent contact information entered in our database. Or, if your foundation is interested in knowing the level of compensation paid to the trustees of particular foundations, our staff consult our collection of 990-PFs to find the answer.

We can perform custom searches of our grantmaker and grants information using either Foundation Directory Online or FC Search: The Foundation Center's Database on CD-ROM, both of which hold our complete database of grantmaker and grant records. Our staff can work with you to create a search strategy to identify foundations funding a particular field or sample grant records that provides details of grants and their recipients.

We can also help you find books or articles related to particular topics. Our library catalog, which comprises the collections of the Foundation Center's five libraries.

As a service to grantmakers, we can perform a search on our grantmaker database to produce mailing labels. With this fee-based search, we can provide your organization with address labels for mailing out your annual report or perhaps for invitations to a conference you are organizing. At your request, we can select names according to foundation fields of interest, location, geographic focus, or a variety of other criteria.
