In a word, yes. Telling your own story is the best way for it to be communicated accurately and in a context of your own design.
Still, the prospect of "plugging in" to a global computer network is daunting even to large foundations and often terrifying to small and medium-sized foundations with limited financial and technological resources.
The Foundation Center developed the Foundation Folder program in 1996 to help individual foundations establish a presence on the Internet and, at the same time, put more foundation information in front of a wider audience. The program, which is free and includes a basic design service and unlimited updates, provides space on the Center's servers to eligible grantmakers interested in seeing their program descriptions, application guidelines, grants lists, RFPs, newsletters, and other informational materials made available online. To learn more about the Foundation Folder program, please read the project fact sheet.
